Essential Oils

The botanical raw material is treated with a non-polar solvent (commonly hexane), which dissolves aromatic molecules along with natural waxes and lipophilic components. After careful removal of the solvent, a semi-solid aromatic mass known as a concrete is obtained.

2. Ethanol Extraction & Purification

The concrete is further processed through ethanol extraction and purification, where aromatic compounds are selectively dissolved while natural waxes are removed through chilling and filtration. The ethanol is then gently evaporated under reduced pressure, yielding the final product - the absolute.

Absolutes are prized in fine perfumery for:
